ESPN Hoopgurlz recently launched their Best of Summer series. In the series, Hoopgurlz featured their top teams, standout players, Gunners (top shooters and scorers), and Dime Droppers (passers). Trust me, the girls on these lists will be the players you hear about on top college shows. Now, how exactly do you get mentioned on these lists?

Play during the summer

First off, the title is “How Women Basketball Players Are Featured in ESPN Hoopgurlz Best of Summer.” I could stop there. In today’s society and the level of women’s basketball, it can not only be played during the regular school basketball season. You have to keep playing basketball through the late spring and into the summer.

Play at National Level

If you visit the ESPN Hoopgurlz site, you’ll see Tip Sheets from the events they attended over the summer. These events were everywhere. You’ll see cities like Memphis, TN; Las Vegas, NV; Los Angeles California; Oregon City, Oregon; and North Augusta, SC If you’re a gamer and want to get recognized as such, you can’t limit yourself and play summer basketball in a church or rec league in your neighborhood. It just doesn’t work that way. You have to go out and play against the best talent in the best national events.

Play the game

Players on the Best of Summer list get to play some basketball. They are fundamentally sound. They are team players. They are great shooters AND scorers. they are distributors.
