Telecommuting: how it supports a green lifestyle
These days, people are more interested in saving time, energy, and ways to make their lives easier and more productive at the same time.
Being a baby boomer in a world filled with so many technical challenges to learn and keep up with can be a bit intimidating. However, it is important that you familiarize yourself and try to stay up-to-date on how to stay connected without getting lost in the mix. But working from home has improved my overall attitude about work and helped me be more productive and creative, while also helping me do my part at work towards a greener way of living.
How am I benefiting from working at home?
First I’m saving money on gas every week! And even though the price of gas has gone down, I’m taking that money I saved and investing it in my business. I choose my own working hours, and by working in blocks of time, I can accomplish a lot in an allotted amount of time, and also take breaks and walk or do some yoga stretches in between.
Eating a healthy meal throughout the day is important to me, being vegan and health conscious of what I am feeding my body and mind. I can eat in my free time by setting a block of time, both for eating and for breaks, and still do everything in an efficient and timely manner. Remain professional and, at the same time, take good care of myself, so that I can work in the best possible way.
Telecommuting can relieve the stress of having to commute to and from work in bad weather. You will definitely save some wear and tear on your vehicle and tires and save the time it would take to get to and from work. It can also save you money on dry cleaning costs!
Another great reason to work from home and help maintain a green lifestyle, because the dry cleaner uses perchlorethylene, a toxic chemical that is very harmful to our environment, and if you’re concerned about helping to reduce toxins, you can look up where to find one. ecological dry cleaning cleaner in your area instead.
Working from home allows you to work for longer periods and more comfortably by being in an environment that is stress-free and conducive to your overall benefit. Create a clutter-free workspace. Make sure you have some water to keep you hydrated. Keep all the tools and implements you might need close at hand to help you work efficiently so you don’t have to constantly climb up and down. Turn off all distractions unless some soft music in the background helps. And enjoy creating those masterpieces!
