I once heard a preacher refer to satan as a unemployed cherub.

I think the statement was intended as a slur.

At first I paled I understand the concept, only last night, although God called my attention to a point regarding this statement that challenged me.

“The devil used to be called Lucifer Lucifermedium ‘bearer of light’ or ‘bearer of light’ this was his name as an angel, he was literally the praise and worship leader/director of the heavenly choir and the scriptures tell us that he was very beautiful. But when his heart sought to take the place of God, he was thrown out of heaven, fired, laid off, and unemployed.

However, what is significant and this is the problem, unlike many of us, his dismantling of the most esteemed employer and corporation in all of heaven and earth did not prevent him from working for himself.

In Sir Alan Sugar’s book ‘What you see is what you get’ It has a chapter titled “Who is going to pay you on Friday?” a question asked by his unenterprising father. Sir Sugar explains in the chapter that this statement summed up his father’s mentality, a mentality which, we might add, intersects with the entrepreneurial mentality that has evidently characterized Sir Alan’s career.

Occupy until He comes!!

Unemployment can hit us like a ton of bricks, and if you are facing it right now, I empathize with your experience and the myriad of emotions and conflicts you may be experiencing. The question I have is; ‘Are you occupying?’

Jesus told a parable of ‘a certain noble man’ in parallel to Him and His servants; The nobleman in the parable charged his servants to ‘Occupy until I come’. This exhortation is used as an instruction to us as believers regarding how we should conduct our affairs as we await Christ’s return.

Clearly satan is doing just that! Being unemployed can be a supernatural opportunity to reflect and evaluate your individual life purpose, calling, and gifts; maybe God has more for you; if you employ yourself you can never be unemployed.

The devil finds work for idle hands

The thief (the devil) comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have that more abundantly. John 10:10 (NIV)

When you allow the depression of your unemployment to consume you, and you begin to see your situation as one of failure, you create fertile ground in your heart and mind for the devil to raid your life and plant seeds of habits, mindsets, attitudes. and responses that can be destructive.

Therefore, it is much more productive to start where you are, start or complete the project that work has always prevented you from doing.

Think outside the box, take a skills assessment or personality test to check your inner drives.

You may be on the verge of a new adventure in the journey that is your life.

Don’t let discouragement and inadequacy rob you of this opportunity, time itself is a precious commodity, and if used wisely when you have more than money, time can become the catalyst for the money you need as well as A lifestyle. aligned Y congruent with your greatest potential if you will take advantage of the opportunity that your current unemployment has presented to you.
