The dreaded 4 to 5 foot putt. Does it drain a lot of these during a round? If not, you need a golf drill…or two to improve this. Making this distance putt can save a lot of pars and take strokes off your score. It pays to incorporate some golf drills into your practice sessions.

When it comes to exercises, they can get boring really fast. The solution to that is to make them fun! Change them and do not do any exercise for more than 10 to 15 minutes. This will help prevent boredom and keep doing them to see course improvements where it counts.

Make sure the exercise is specific to your weak point. If it’s long putts, do more distance drills. If it’s short putts, make more putts within 3-5 feet. Either way… you have to tailor it to YOUR golfing needs. You will avoid wasting a lot of time and effort with this approach.

Short putt drill

There are many different types of short putt drills… just make sure that whatever you do, you see an improvement fairly quickly. Short putts are more of a confidence and concentration issue than a skill issue. As you stick to your exercises, your confidence and focus will increase. Then you’ll start making more and more of these putts… shaving a handful of strokes off your score quickly!

Consistency = Results

You’ve heard this a thousand times, but it’s true of everything in life! If you are consistent with your putting drills… success will happen! It won’t be long before more short putts are made. As you make a few, your confidence will skyrocket… and you’ll gain even more. The end result is a much lower golf score!

Just remember…one golf drill can make or break your overall golf improvement!
