How to Make Thousands in WoW Gold Farming the Black Tabby
Ever since the release of WoW’s latest expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, many players have been in a frenzy trying to collect as many vanity pets as possible. The reason for this is simple: you can earn some very impressive “achievements” that reward you for collecting a large number of these pets.
One such pet is so rare and valuable that some Alliance players will pay 2000g or more to own it. This toilet pet is called the Black Tabby. The reason it’s so rare is that it can only be farmed by a Horde character and is dropped by a rare NPC named Dalaran Spellscribe who appears once every 4-6 hours in the Ambermill town in the area controlled by the Horde called Silverpine Forest in the Eastern Kingdoms.
What level should my character have?
Since the Dalaran Spellscribe is a level 21 mob, you will need to have a Horde character that is at least level 19 to kill it. A helpful tip: If you have a character of level 55 or higher on any server, you are eligible to create a Horde Death Knight to farm this NPC by taking it to Ambermill.
Where is it generated?
The Dalaran Spellscribe appears only within the walled village of Ambermill and appears in one of three locations:
- It can appear in the small house just north of the town hall.
- It can spawn within the town hall itself.
- It can spawn inside the large house directly south of the town hall.
Note that it is always surrounded by other mobs so kill it first because if it dies you can always go back and loot it.

You have a 19% chance to drop the Black Tabby Pet Carrier, so be patient as it will probably take a while to get it. What I do is I park my farming character right inside the city games with his back against the wall. Then log in with your character several times a day to see if the Dalaran Spellscribe is active.
To make things even easier, you need to create a special macro that targets this NPC. Here is the only line you need to have in your macro:
/target Dalaran Spellscribe
The last thing you need to know is that in order to sell this vanity pet for maximum profit, you will need to smuggle the pet into an Alliance auction house with a friend or a second account through a neutral Goblin auction house.
