There are many things that Thompson has done that I agree with. For example, he has turned the Packers into a contender very quickly after going 4-12 just 3 seasons ago. He has also had some gem draft picks like Greg Jennings, Nick Collins and Aaron Rodgers. And I even agree with the way he handled the Brett Favre situation last year.

However, I do not agree with removing Tyrell Sutton, Brian Brohm and Anthony Smith from the team this year. I just don’t get it at all. Each of those three should still be on the team this year.

We’ll start with Sutton. The only reason Sutton isn’t on the team is because Thompson doesn’t want it to look like he wasted a second-round pick on Brandon Jackson. But the problem is that Jackson sucks and now the Packers are left with an inferior running back. I really think Sutton would have been better

Next up we have the disappointing Brian Brohm. I know the guy looked like shit this preseason, I even made a post about it. However, a lot of quarterbacks take a long time to develop and I remember Aaron Rodgers didn’t look that good during his first two seasons either. The craziest part is that Brohm was also a second-round pick. They won’t get rid of Jackson, but they will have a quarterback, although quarterbacks usually take much longer to develop. I just do not get it.

And finally Anthony Smith. Why on God’s green earth did they cut it down? I didn’t get to watch the last preseason game, but he was making some serious plays in the other games. Honestly, I think he looked better than Atari Bigby, who, by the way, already has some nagging minor injuries. From what I’ve seen, Smith should have been our starter. Period. So what’s the deal? Did he really go up and kick Thompson or McCarthy in the balls? What the hell? Now we are left with Rouse and Peprah. Great, they burn even worse than Bigby. I can’t wait until Bigby is out for the year again. So we can be torched in the middle of the field for the whole season. It will be really fucking sweet.
