Physiotherapy based Pilates is an excellent rehabilitation exercise for injuries or those who need to improve their balance, body awareness and core strength. During clinical pilates sessions you will be taught the correct movements and techniques by an experienced physiotherapist to manage your injury or pain. Our studios are fully equipped with reformers, full trapeze table and wunda chair plus many other smaller pieces of equipment designed to strengthen your whole body. The Pilates class East Sheen is the bed-like machine that Joseph Pilates developed whilst in prison during the First World War. It has springs to support & assist movement, a moving carriage (similar to a treadmill), foot/ hand bar and head support.

It can be used laying down, sitting or standing. Exercises can be made very gentle or very challenging by the use of springs, adding or removing the foot/hand bar and changing the position of the head support. Exercises are functional, mimicking everyday and sport movements to help improve your posture, balance, stability and performance.
